Have to disagree with you completely, Nebulous. Shakor has ever bee an ardent supporter of Matari rights and Matari way of life. Following his example, large sections of Amarrian territory are now under Matari control, and this is only a beginning. It is common knowledge -- and the basis upon which that he won unanimous support from every tribe -- that he intends the rebuild the Matari Nation of old. Given that the Thukkers back him, too, this may soon be a reality.
Not sure what you've been hearing about him, but I'm thrilled to see him take the reigns.

Originally by: Nebulous A vast shake up of the republics policies and even a name change to something more suitable than "the minmatar republic" may go some way to truly uniting the tribes.
You mean a vast shake up and name change much like that which is describe in this news article?
Perhaps sweeping changes in foreign policy subtly hinted at by the current war in and near the Bleaklands and discussed in Prime Minister Shakor's inaugural speech?
As to the Angels ... well, I'm not sure what to tell you. They've been killing Matari for years, and selling slaves to the Empire ... I'd be surprised if they were invited to any state dinners any time soon.

Originally by: Sepherim Now you have become that which you despise. Sure, you don't have the backing of God, but now you're an Empire and no longer a Republic. Rememeber that, and feel the power of an un-worthy dictatorship on your backs.
Leave it to an Imperial to believe there are only two forms of government to choose from...
Before the Empire came and visited death and misery upon our worlds, we lived under neither Republic nor Empire. The Matari Nation thrived, and we lived in freedom. Now, we return to our roots. It's really not as complex or drastic a step as a great many people seem to want to think.
